Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our team for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments in a school-based setting. This role may involve collaboration with general education teachers, interpreting services, and individualized education plan (IEP) development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's needs
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Support students in accessing the general education curriculum
- Promote communication skills using appropriate modalities (e.g., ASL, auditory/oral methods, total communication)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field
- Valid state teaching certification for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
