About the Role
The Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will play a key role in delivering specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments. You will work closely with school staff, families, and students to create an inclusive and effective learning environment, ensuring all students have access to a high-quality education.
Responsibilities

Deliver direct instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, in alignment with IEPs.

Develop and adapt curriculum and materials to meet individual student needs.

Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, families, and support staff to promote student success.

Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and records.

Provide guidance and support to school staff on effective strategies for teaching students with hearing impairments.

Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations.
Qualifications

Required Certification: Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education.

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.

Preferred Experience: Previous experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school setting.

Skills: Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills; ability to work effectively in a team and adapt instruction to diverse student needs.
