A specialized opportunity is available for an experienced professional working with students who are Deaf/Blind, serving kindergarten-aged children in an educational setting. This role requires in-person service delivery within Washington, DC, with travel involved to meet student needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support and specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of a kindergarten student who is Deaf/Blind.
  • Collaborate with educational staff and family members to develop and implement individualized strategies that enhance communication, learning, and social interaction.
  • Deliver services during in-person sessions scheduled for approximately 4 hours per month.
  • Manage compensatory education hours as required to meet service mandates and student progress goals.
  • Utilize expertise in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education to optimize instructional approaches and adapt materials accordingly.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher with a focus on students who are Deaf/Blind.
  • Strong knowledge of communication techniques and assistive technologies suited for Deaf/Blind students.
  • Ability to travel as necessary within the region to fulfill in-person service commitments.
  • Understanding of educational protocols and compliance for special needs populations.

Location:

  • Washington, DC, with travel expected to the student’s location for in-person engagement.
