Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Location: Wilmington, DE
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 37.5 hours per week
Contract Dates: August 25, 2025 – June 12, 2026 (2025–2026 School Year)
Caseload: Approximately 6–10 students, K–12
Blazer Jobs is seeking a certified Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for a full-time, school-based role in Wilmington, DE. This position is ideal for a compassionate educator dedicated to supporting the academic and/or functional needs of students with hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction and support in academic areas, tailored to the communication needs of each student

Utilize a range of communication methods, including American Sign Language (ASL), spoken language, and assistive listening technology

Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement instructional goals and accommodations per IEP requirements

Regularly communicate with parents and team members to exchange updates and support strategies
-
Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress using formal and informal tools

Prepare for and actively participate in IEP meetings related to student programming and services
Requirements:

Valid Delaware certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing or appropriate endorsement

Experience working in school settings preferred

Proficiency in ASL and/or other communication modalities for students with hearing loss

Strong understanding of assistive hearing technologies and differentiated instruction

Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and maintain accurate documentation
