About the Role:
The Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing will play a key role in providing specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing. You’ll collaborate closely with school staff, students, and families to ensure a safe, inclusive, and effective learning environment that fosters academic and personal growth.
Responsibilities:

Deliver direct instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in accordance with IEPs and individualized learning plans.

Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, lesson plans, and case records.

Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to enhance student learning and communication skills.

Support student social-emotional development, academic progress, and overall well-being.

Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations for special education and deaf education services.
Qualifications:

Valid Delaware teaching license or certification with endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Deaf Education, or a related field.

Experience working with children or adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing is preferred.

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Ability to implement specialized instructional strategies and use assistive technologies effectively.
