About the Role

This virtual Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) position supports K–12 students across Nevada through remote, school-based services. The role focuses on accessibility, instructional consultation, and collaboration with educational teams to ensure students who are deaf or hard of hearing have appropriate access to instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provide virtual instructional support and consultation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing

• Support development, implementation, and monitoring of IEPs and communication plans

• Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and related service providers

• Recommend and support the use of assistive listening devices and accessibility tools

• Participate in virtual IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and team consultations

• Ensure instructional materials and strategies meet accessibility and compliance requirements

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field

• Active Nevada Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing certification

• School-based experience supporting DHH students preferred

• Strong knowledge of accessibility, accommodations, and assistive technology

• Experience providing services in a virtual or remote setting preferred

• Teaching certification may be required depending on district.
