About the Role:
The Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will play a key role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments. You will collaborate with school staff, students, and families to ensure students have access to a fully inclusive and effective learning environment, while promoting academic, social, and emotional growth.
Responsibilities:

Deliver direct services to students as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Maintain accurate documentation and case records for all assigned students

Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to optimize student learning and communication

Support student wellness, development, and academic progress through targeted interventions

Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations regarding special education and hearing services
Qualifications:

Valid California teaching credential with endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education (required)

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Deaf Education, or related field (required)

Experience working in a school setting with children/adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Proficiency in sign language (ASL) and knowledge of assistive listening technologies preferred
