A specialized teaching opportunity is available for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to support elementary students. Position Details:

  • Discipline: Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Hours: Part-Time, 20 hours per week
  • Caseload: Elementary students, providing direct service minutes and consultative support
  • Job Duration: School Year (NSY) contract

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (IL TDHH) license required
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Ability to deliver both direct instructional support and consultative services to students and staff

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction and support tailored to students with hearing impairments
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and related service providers to optimize student success
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Provide consultative services to educators regarding communication strategies and accommodations
