Position Overview:

Our partner district in Albertville, MN is seeking a dedicated and experienced Hearing Impaired Teacher to support students. This is a full-time, itinerant position serving students with hearing impairments. The teacher will play a critical role in helping students access instruction and communicate effectively in the classroom environment.

Details:

  • Full Time: 35 hours/week
  • September 2025 - May 2026
  • Caseload: K-12 Caseloads available

Hourly pay: $38-43+ depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students with hearing loss, tailored to their IEP goals
  • Support students in both general education and special education settings
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, audiologists, interpreters, and other service providers
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
  • Consult with school staff on classroom accommodations, assistive technology, and hearing equipment (e.g., FM systems)
  • Foster language development through a variety of communication methods (e.g., spoken English, ASL, cued speech, total communication—based on student needs)
  • Travel between assigned school sites as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field
  • Valid Minnesota teaching license with endorsement in Hearing Impairment, DHH or Deaf Education
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in an itinerant or school-based setting
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred but not required
