Compensation Packages
Local Candidates: Pay range is $49–$56 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Travel Candidates: Weekly take-home pay ranges from $1700–$1978, equivalent to $56–$65 per hour. Travel compensation is structured with a lower taxable hourly rate supplemented by housing and meal stipends, helping maximize earnings while covering living expenses.

Job Duties for DHH Teachers

Provide direct and consultative educational services to students with hearing impairments.

Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet the communication needs of each student.

Collaborate with general and special education staff to ensure inclusive classroom support.

Utilize assistive listening devices, sign language, or other communication methods as needed.

Develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines.

Support families in understanding student goals and progress.
Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field.

Active teaching certification in Maryland with the appropriate endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.

Familiarity with sign language, auditory/oral methods, and assistive technologies.

Previous school-based experience preferred.

Must meet all federal and state background check requirements.
