Responsibilities

Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, and support staff

Adapt and modify curriculum to meet students’ communication and learning needs

Monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies as necessary

Participate in IEP meetings and maintain compliance with state and federal requirements

Support families in understanding strategies to promote student growth
Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field

Maryland state certification or eligibility as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Prior school-based experience preferred

Strong collaboration and communication skills
