DHH Teacher | Irving, Texas
This opportunity seeks a qualified educator specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) instruction to support students from PreK through 6th grade. The position is full-time or part-time, with 21 to 35 hours per week, working a minimum of three days up to five days. The role is onsite in Irving, TX, within a K-12 school setting, and runs from ASAP until May 21, 2026.
Responsibilities include managing an itinerant caseload focused on one campus, providing specialized support to students with hearing impairments. Key duties involve conducting evaluations, attending Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, interpreting audiograms, and tailoring educational strategies that meet individual student needs. Collaboration with school staff and families is essential to ensure comprehensive support and successful student outcomes.
Qualifications and experience desired:
- Valid Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teaching License issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA)
- Experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ideally within the Texas school system
- Strong knowledge of evaluation techniques and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Ability to interpret audiograms and utilize that information to adapt instruction
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with educators, families, and related service providers
- Flexibility for itinerant role supporting PreK to 6th-grade students
