This full-time, contract position begins on January 6th, focusing on a caseload of 20 students. Most students are full sign users and wear hearing devices; FM systems are utilized within classrooms to enhance learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to deaf and hard of hearing students across K-12.
- Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to integrate students effectively.
- Use sign language and other communication strategies to facilitate learning.
- Monitor and manage hearing devices and FM systems within the classroom.
- Maintain accurate student records and report progress regularly.
Qualifications:
- Valid Texas teaching certificate in General Education or Special Education.
- Certification as a Teacher of the Auditorily Impaired.
- Experience working with deaf or hard of hearing students preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both in sign language and classroom instruction.
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 20 students effectively.
