Travel DHH Teacher Opportunity – Boston, MA
Contract Dates: September 2, 2025 – June 16, 2026 (Full School Year)
Student Caseload:  K-12
Compensation: Equivalent to $55/hour, including hourly pay + travel & relocation stipends

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, using appropriate communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL), spoken language, or cued speech.

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals to support students’ academic and social development.

  • Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the unique learning needs of DHH students.

  • Utilize assistive technology and accommodations, such as FM systems, captioning, and visual supports, to enhance student learning.

  • Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.

  • Provide guidance and resources to families to support their child’s education and communication needs.

  • Advocate for students’ needs within the school setting and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.


Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education or related field

  • Willing to obtain Teaching Certification in Deaf Education in the required state

  • Pass the Praxis exam for "Education of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students."

  • Sign Language: You may need to complete some American Sign Language (ASL) coursework and show basic proficiency in ASL.
