Job Description
We are currently hiring dedicated Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) for full-time, on-site positions in the Northwestern Illinois area for the 2025–2026 school year. These roles involve working in middle school and high school settings within the school district to provide specialized support and instruction to students with hearing impairments.
In this position, you’ll collaborate closely with general and special education teachers, support staff, and families to help students achieve their academic and communication goals through the use of individualized education plans (IEPs), assistive technology, and differentiated instruction.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

Develop and implement IEPs tailored to students’ communication and educational needs

Foster academic achievement and language development
-
Use visual, auditory, and assistive technology tools to promote learning
-
Work collaboratively with educators and parents to ensure student progress

Serve both inclusive classrooms and pull-out/resource environments
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Active Illinois TDHH License
-
Professional Educator License (PEL) from ISBE
-
Experience working with middle or high school students in a special education setting

Strong communication and collaboration skills
-
Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual needs
