School-Based Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)
Location: Chattanooga, TN
Employment Type: Full-Time | Local W-2 Contract
Pay Range: $35/hr - $41/hr
Blazer Jobs is actively seeking a passionate Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to join a Chattanooga, TN school district for the 2025–2026 school year. This role offers the opportunity to provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments, ensuring equal access to education in an inclusive learning environment.
Position Overview
The DHH Teacher will develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) to meet the unique communication and learning needs of each student. This includes collaborating with families, interpreters, and school staff to foster student growth and achievement.
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct and consultative services to students with hearing impairments

Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies for accessibility

Support students using various communication modes, including ASL, spoken English, and assistive technologies

Monitor and assess student progress toward IEP goals

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and attend IEP meetings

Educate staff and families on hearing loss, communication strategies, and assistive device use
Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field

Tennessee DHH teaching certification (or eligibility)

Proficiency in ASL and/or other communication methods preferred

Experience working with school-aged children with hearing impairments
