Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to serve students in the Clarksville, TN area schools. This role focuses on supporting students with hearing impairments by providing specialized instruction, fostering communication skills, and promoting academic success in inclusive and resource settings.
Responsibilities:

Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.

Utilize a variety of communication methods, including sign language, auditory-oral approaches, and assistive listening devices.

Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success.

Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals.

Advocate for accommodations and modifications to support access to the curriculum.

Stay current on best practices and emerging technology for hearing-impaired education.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field.

Valid Tennessee teaching certification with endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (or eligibility to obtain).

Proficiency in sign language (ASL) preferred.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Experience working in a school-based setting preferred.
