Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our team for the 2025–2026 school year. This position involves working directly with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school-based setting. The teacher will collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families to support student learning and communication needs.
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct instruction to students with hearing impairments

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals

Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff

Utilize appropriate communication methods (e.g., ASL, oral/auditory, total communication)

Support student access to the general education curriculum

Participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences
Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field

Valid teaching certification for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students (Tennessee or reciprocal state license)

Prior experience with students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
