A part-time teaching position is available supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a K-12 educational setting. This contract role runs from ASAP through the end of the current school year, providing essential services two times per month for 4 to 6 hours each day. The position requires working with a diverse caseload of K-12 students to support their individualized learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Personalized Educational Programs tailored to each student’s unique communication and learning requirements.
  • Utilize various communication methods such as Sign Language, lipreading, and other specialized techniques.
  • Collaborate closely with parents, teachers, and multidisciplinary specialists to ensure comprehensive support and progress monitoring.
  • Assist students in accessing the curriculum and promote language development and auditory skills.
  • Participate in assessments and maintain detailed documentation and student progress records.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or qualifications to teach Deaf and Hard of Hearing students (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience working with K-12 students with hearing impairments.
  • Proficiency in Sign Language and/or other communication techniques suitable for this population.
  • Strong collaborative skills to engage effectively with families and professionals.
  • Ability to develop individualized educational plans and adapt instruction accordingly.
