DHH - Artesia Wells, TX
Soliant is seeking a qualified and committed Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to provide specialized instructional support to students identified with auditory impairments (AI) across elementary and middle school levels. This role focuses on helping students who are deaf or hard of hearing access curriculum, develop communication skills, and reach their full educational potential.
This is a flexible position that can be structured as full-time or part-time based on the needs of the district and the availability of the candidate. Services will be provided in both general education and special education settings, in collaboration with campus staff and families.
Caseload Information:

Total current caseload: 5 students

Elementary: 2 students

Middle School: 3 students

Projected: 1 additional student expected to enroll in August 2025
Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct and consultative services to students with auditory impairments as defined in their IEPs
-
Support development of language, communication, self-advocacy, and academic skills
-
Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to implement accommodations and modifications

Monitor student progress and participate in ARD/IEP meetings
-
Assist in providing access to instruction through auditory, visual, and/or technological supports
-
Educate staff about hearing loss, assistive technology (e.g., FM systems, hearing aids, cochlear implants), and inclusive strategies
Qualifications:

Valid Texas certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing or eligibility for certification

Experience working with students with auditory impairments in educational settings

Knowledge of communication modalities including spoken language, sign language, and total communication

Ability to develop individualized instructional approaches and adapt curriculum materials

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams
Schedule:

Specific daily/weekly schedule to be determined based on staffing model and student needs

Employment is for the duration of the school year, following the academic calendar (August 11, 2025 - May 21, 2026)
