Role Summary
As a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Dallas, TX, you will provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments. Your work will focus on fostering communication, language development, and academic achievement in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement individualized instructional plans for students with hearing impairments
• Support language and communication development through spoken language, sign language, or total communication approaches
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed
• Participate in IEP meetings and maintain appropriate documentation
Requirements (Texas)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field
• Valid Texas teaching certification with Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement
• Experience in school settings preferred
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
