Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Irving, TX
An opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to support students from PreK through 6th grade in a full-time or part-time itinerant role within a K-12 school setting. This contract position runs from January 5, 2026, through May 21, 2026, offering 21 to 35 hours per week, with a minimum commitment of three days and a maximum of five days per week. The position is located in Mansfield, Texas, and requires on-site presence.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting evaluations and managing a caseload of students from PreK to 6th grade.
- Attending Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings.
- Reading and interpreting audiograms to inform educational planning.
- Providing specialized instruction and support tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
- Collaborating with school staff and families to promote student success.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teaching License through the Texas Education Agency (TEA) is required.
- Previous Texas school-based experience with D/HH students is preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple student needs effectively in an itinerant capacity.
