DHH Teacher | Irving, Texas
A full-time or part-time Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students is needed to provide specialized educational support for children from Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade. This role is based in Mansfield, Texas, supporting one campus within the Rio Grande School Program Division. The position requires candidates to commit to a minimum of three days per week, with 7-hour days, totaling between 21 and 35 hours weekly. The contract term runs from ASAP through May 21, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and manage caseloads for students from PreK to 6th grade with hearing impairments
- Read and interpret audiograms to inform instructional strategies
- Attend Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to collaborate on individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide tailored teaching and support services in alignment with state educational standards and student needs
Qualifications:
- Active Texas teaching license for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) required
- Experience working in Texas school settings preferred
- Ability to complete fingerprinting and credentialing requirements, including verification through the AHCA Clearinghouse or re-fingerprinting as needed
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
