Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Position in School Setting

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Teachers for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for a full-time role with school districts in the Derby, KS area. We are seeking dedicated professionals passionate about empowering students with hearing impairments to achieve their educational goals.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ needs.

Utilize specialized instructional strategies and assistive technology to enhance student learning.

Foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports language development and communication.

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success.

Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.

Provide direct instruction in speechreading, sign language, and other communication techniques.

Advocate for students' needs and assist in creating accessible learning materials.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field.

Valid state certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred.

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus.
