Virtual Special Education Teacher - Detroit, Michigan
Position Overview We're seeking a dedicated educator to provide individualized virtual instruction and support services through our advanced remote platform. You'll work with students across multiple grade levels while managing comprehensive case responsibilities in a fully remote environment.
Student Services & Programming
- Elementary supplemental and intensive support programming
- Secondary multi-categorical instruction delivery
- Transition planning and life skills curriculum support
- Students with autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and developmental delays
- Comprehensive virtual classroom management
Professional Responsibilities
- IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Virtual classroom instruction with curriculum modifications
- Behavioral intervention planning and implementation
- Assessment coordination and data-driven progress reporting
- Collaborative consultation with general education teams
- Family engagement and communication partnerships
- Compliance with state and federal special education regulations
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid Michigan special education teaching license
- Minimum 2 years of direct special education classroom experience
- Experience with virtual instruction platforms preferred
- Strong technology proficiency and digital literacy
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in remote environment
