Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction aligned with students’ IEPs.
- Adapt curriculum and collaborate with classroom teachers for accessibility.
- Support language, communication, and social development.
- Monitor student progress and maintain documentation.
- Manage hearing technology and coordinate with audiologists.
- Provide consultation and training for staff on hearing loss and accommodations.
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate with families.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Deaf Education or related field.
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (as required by the state).
- Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Knowledge of current best practices in deaf education, assistive technology, and language development.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities, as appropriate.
