Pay Range: $37.50 – $43.50 per hour
Caseload: 18 students (Early Childhood through Grade 12)

Soliant Education is seeking a qualified and dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TOD) for an onsite position for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a contract position with full benefits and weekly pay.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across a variety of educational settings.

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, parents, and related service providers.

  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly.

  • Utilize appropriate assistive technology and communication methods, including ASL as needed.

  • Support students from Early Childhood through Grade 12 in both academic and communication development.


Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education or a closely related field is required.

Licensure:

  • Valid Kansas teaching license in general or special education.

  • Endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TOD) must be added to the license.

Exam:

  • Successful completion of the Praxis exam for "Education of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students."

Sign Language:

  • Basic proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required.

  • May need to complete ASL coursework to demonstrate proficiency.
