Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) – Elgin, IL

Compensation Packages

DHH Teacher Responsibilities

Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of students with hearing impairments.

Collaborate with teachers, speech-language pathologists, interpreters, and families.

Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with IDEA and Illinois state standards.

Incorporate assistive technologies and communication strategies to support student growth.

Track student progress and adapt teaching methods as needed.

Support family involvement through communication strategies and resource sharing.
Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field.

Active Illinois teaching license with a DHH endorsement (or ability to obtain).

Proficiency in American Sign Language or other communication systems is highly valued.

Previous experience in school settings preferred.

Must complete all federal and state background checks.
