Position Overview
The DHH Educator will deliver specialized instruction and support across classroom and school-related settings. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Facilitate communication using American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication systems
- Implement and monitor IEP/504 accommodations, tracking student progress toward goals
- Partner with teachers, administrators, and families to align student learning plans
- Advocate for inclusion and accessibility in classrooms and extracurricular activities
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to professional standards
- Proficiency in ASL required
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience highly valued
- Must pass background and fingerprint checks
