This full-time Hearing Itinerant Teacher position supports K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing within a leave of absence (LOA) contract in Mount Prospect, IL. The role requires delivering specialized instructional services tailored to each student’s unique communication needs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized instruction and support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across grades K-12
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to implement effective communication strategies and accommodations
  • Conduct assessments and monitor progress to adjust teaching methods and goals accordingly
  • Maintain detailed documentation and comply with district and state guidelines
  • Travel between assigned schools to ensure continuity of services for itinerant students

Qualifications and credentials:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement to teach Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
  • Demonstrated expertise in instructional strategies for Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
