This full-time Hearing Itinerant Teacher position supports K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing within a leave of absence (LOA) contract in Mount Prospect, IL. The role requires delivering specialized instructional services tailored to each student’s unique communication needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction and support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across grades K-12
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to implement effective communication strategies and accommodations
- Conduct assessments and monitor progress to adjust teaching methods and goals accordingly
- Maintain detailed documentation and comply with district and state guidelines
- Travel between assigned schools to ensure continuity of services for itinerant students
Qualifications and credentials:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement to teach Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Demonstrated expertise in instructional strategies for Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
