Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Utilize specialized teaching strategies and technology to support language development and access to curriculum
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and general education teachers
- Monitor student progress and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Provide family education and support to engage guardians in the learning process
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid credential or certification for teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Proven experience working with children who have hearing impairments in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of communication modalities, such as ASL, speechreading, or auditory-verbal techniques
- Ability to design and implement effective interventions tailored to individual student needs
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to work within multidisciplinary teams
