Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) to join our educational team for the 2025–2026 school year in Cherry Creek Schools. This position involves providing specialized instruction to K–12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring they receive an inclusive and supportive educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Deliver direct instruction using appropriate communication methods, including American Sign Language (ASL) and other modalities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to support student development.
- Utilize assistive technologies and adaptive equipment to enhance learning experiences.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary.
- Advocate for students' needs within the school community and participate in IEP meetings.
- Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Valid Colorado teaching certification in Deaf or Hard of Hearing education.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Experience working with K–12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Full-time position for the 2025–2026 school year.
