DHH Teacher | Issaquah, Washington
A full-semester, part-time position is available for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing serving K-12 students near Issaquah, WA. This itinerant role supports approximately 20-35 elementary and secondary students with hearing impairments. The assignment runs from ASAP through June 17, 2026, with a schedule of three days per week (.6 FTE).
Responsibilities include:
- Providing specialized instruction and support tailored to the needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Collaborating with classroom teachers and support staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Conducting assessments and monitoring student progress
- Utilizing appropriate communication methods and assistive technologies
- Serving as an advocate for students’ communication access and educational rights
Qualifications:
- Valid Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) license
- Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certification
- Experience working with K-12 students in inclusive school settings preferred
