Overview
Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) to join a district team in the Denton / Dallas–Fort Worth metro area. This role is part-time and ideal for a skilled educator who understands the unique needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, and who values collaboration, student advocacy, and accessible instruction. The successful candidate will partner with general education teachers, support staff, families, and the audiology/ASL team to ensure students with hearing impairments thrive both academically and socially.
Compensation
Hourly rate: $37.05–$42.97 per hour, based on experience, certification level, and assignment specifics.
Paid weekly with recruiter support throughout your contract.

Job Responsibilities
• Deliver specialized instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, designing and adapting curriculum to meet IEP goals
• Work collaboratively with audiologists, ASL interpreters, general education and special education teachers, and families to ensure full access and participation
• Teach communication, literacy, language, and social-emotional skills, including use of assistive technology and/or ASL as appropriate
• Monitor and report student progress, maintain accurate, confidential records in alignment with district and state standards
• Participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and assist with transition planning for students
• Promote an inclusive, respectful school culture and serve as a resource for staff and families on hearing loss and access issues
Requirements
• Valid Texas Teaching Certification with endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) or Hearing Impairment required.
• Bachelor’s degree in education; Master’s preferred
• Prior experience teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing strongly preferred
• Strong professional references demonstrating reliability, communication, and collaboration skills
• Successful completion of district hiring, background, and credentialing requirements prior to start
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between school sites if required
