Teacher of the Deaf in Dallas, TX
A full-time or part-time teaching opportunity is available for a qualified Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher to support PreK-6th grade students. This on-site contract position requires a dedicated professional experienced in special education and skilled in managing a caseload of students with hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments for students with hearing loss
- Interpret audiograms to inform instructional strategies and student support plans
- Attend Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to collaborate with educators, parents, and specialists
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Provide direct instruction and accommodations to students from PreK through 6th grade
- Collaborate with the campus team to ensure compliance with Texas education standards and regulations
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Texas Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teaching License (TEA required)
- Experience working in Texas school settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of advocacy and instructional methods for the deaf and hard of hearing population
- Excellent communication skills for working with students, families, and school staff
- Ability to manage a caseload and maintain detailed records
Location and Schedule:
- Position is located in Mansfield, Texas
- Full-time or part-time options available ranging from 21 to 35 hours per week (minimum 3 days per week, 7-hour days)
- Support provided to a single campus serving PreK-6th grade students in the Resource Deaf and Hard of Hearing program (RDSPD)
