Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Framingham, MA
This full-time or part-time position involves providing specialized instruction for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students within a K-12 school setting located in Framingham, MA. The role focuses on delivering direct reading and literacy instruction, alongside American Sign Language (ASL) services to ensure effective communication access. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct reading and literacy instruction tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Provide ASL support to facilitate communication access throughout the school day
- Create and maintain an inclusive classroom environment that honors both spoken and signed language modalities
- Collaborate with general education staff to support language acquisition and academic achievement across content areas
- Monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly
Qualifications:
- Valid Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) Massachusetts license required
- Demonstrated experience in reading and literacy instruction for Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners
- Proficiency in American Sign Language and ability to integrate ASL effectively in instruction
