We are currently seeking a passionate and student-centered Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to support students across our district who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have hearing-related educational needs.

Position Summary:
Our DHH teacher will provide direct and consultative services to students from early childhood through high school, depending on need. Services may be delivered in a variety of educational settings, with a focus on ensuring access, language development, academic progress, and self-advocacy skills.
Details:
- Full Time: 32.5 hours/week
- August 2025 - June 2026
- Caseload: K-12, Itinerant throughout the district
Hourly pay: $40-45+ depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students who are Deaf or hard of hearing based on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to ensure accessible instruction and classroom accommodations.
- Support the development of language, communication, auditory, and social-emotional skills.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Facilitate the use of assistive technology and hearing devices; coordinate with audiologists and speech-language pathologists.
- Educate and train staff on hearing loss, communication strategies, and inclusive practices.
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with IDEA and district policies.
- Serve students in one or more schools depending on caseload and need (travel within the district may be required).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field.
- Valid Wyoming certification as Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or hard of hearing in school settings preferred.
- Strong understanding of language acquisition, auditory-verbal strategies, sign language modalities (ASL or total communication), and hearing technology.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and educational teams.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
