We are currently recruiting for DHH Teachers for schools located in two vibrant cities:

  • Tallahassee, FL

  • New Orleans, LA

Job Duties:

  • Provide instruction and support for students with hearing impairments in a classroom setting.

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.

  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure students' educational needs are being met in a holistic, supportive environment.

  • Assess students' progress through formal and informal assessments, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.

  • Promote inclusion and accessibility in classroom activities, ensuring students have access to the curriculum.

  • Provide advocacy and support for students' communication and social-emotional needs.

  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, updating them on student progress and any concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.

  • Valid state certification in Deaf Education or equivalent (or eligibility to obtain certification in the state of placement).

  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in an educational setting.

  • Strong communication skills, including proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other alternative communication methods.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a team of educators, therapists, and administrators.

  • Passion for working with students and a commitment to providing a positive and inclusive educational environment.
