Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement specialized instructional strategies for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Assess individual student needs and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and support specialists to create inclusive learning environments
- Utilize assistive technology and communication methods appropriate to students’ hearing abilities
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods to enhance learning outcomes
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in Deaf Education or Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with K-12 Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Strong knowledge of communication modalities such as American Sign Language (ASL), speech therapy techniques, or auditory training
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
