Virtual DHH Teacher - Specialized Instruction - MI
Opportunity Description Deliver specialized virtual educational services to students who are deaf and hard of hearing across diverse learning environments. This full-time remote role emphasizes individualized instruction, communication development, and collaborative educational support.
Service Areas
- Comprehensive academic instruction for students with hearing loss
- Communication and language skill development
- Auditory training and listening skill enhancement
- Visual learning strategy implementation
- Self-advocacy and independence skill building
- Academic accommodation and modification planning
Key Responsibilities
- Virtual classroom instruction and management
- Individualized assessment and educational planning
- IEP development and implementation
- Hearing technology troubleshooting and coordination
- Family consultation and partnership building
- Educational team collaboration and support
- Student progress documentation and reporting
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education
- Valid Michigan Deaf and Hard of Hearing teaching license
- Minimum 2 years of direct experience serving students with hearing loss
- American Sign Language competency
- Knowledge of hearing aids, cochlear implants, and FM systems
- Virtual instruction experience strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and technological skills
