This onsite contract role in Green Bay, WI, offers an opportunity to work as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, focusing primarily on elementary students. You will be responsible for supporting and educating young learners with hearing impairments, providing instruction throughout the school day using American Sign Language and other specialized communication methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored educational support to elementary students with hearing impairments.
- Use American Sign Language (ASL) to enhance communication and learning.
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and staff to integrate Deaf/Hard of Hearing students effectively.
- Assist in instructing foundational skills such as reading, writing, and math based on student readiness.
- Manage caseload efficiently to meet each student's educational needs.
Qualifications:
- At least two years of post-secondary education equivalent to 48 semester hours from an accredited institution, OR an associate degree or higher.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and mathematics, proven through formal academic assessment.
- Hold a valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Educational Interpreter License.
- Experience working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting preferred.
