Our partner school in the Greencastle, IN area is searching for a certified Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher. We are looking for a compassionate educator wanting to join our Special Education team for the upcoming school year!
Requirements:
- Must have an Active State License/Certification in Deaf Education
- Must have a Master’s Degree in Education for Teaching Deaf Students
- Fluent in ASL preferred, not required
Position Details:
- August 2025 - May 2026
- Full-Time: up to 40 hours per week
- Caseload details will be discussed during the interview process
General Responsibilities:
- Provide language and communication support to students by utilizing a variety of approaches, including sign language, speech, lip-reading, and written communication.
- Foster language development, vocabulary acquisition, and effective communication skills.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, interpreters, and other professionals to ensure the effective inclusion of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, providing input and recommendations for accommodations, modifications, and services.
