Position: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHH)
Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to serve students in the Harvey, Louisiana area. This is a full-time position in a supportive school-based environment, with additional remote and travel options available depending on student needs.
Role Description:
The DHH teacher will provide specialized instruction to students with hearing impairments, helping them build language, communication, and academic skills in alignment with their IEP goals. The teacher will work alongside general educators, families, and related service providers.
Essential Duties:

Deliver direct instruction in auditory training, speech reading, and communication skills

Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet student learning goals

Participate in multidisciplinary IEP meetings

Provide consultation to staff and families
-
Utilize assistive listening devices and promote auditory access
Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education
-
Valid Louisiana teaching certificate with endorsement for Hearing Impairments

Familiarity with ASL and auditory/oral approaches
-
CCC-A or CCC-SLP holders with experience in DHH education will also be considered

Prior school-based experience preferred
