A full-time teaching opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to serve K-12 students within a Louisiana public school setting. The position entails approximately 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, aligning with the academic calendar and including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across K-12 grade levels.
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Utilize appropriate educational strategies and assistive technologies to promote student engagement and academic success.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana Department of Education certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing is required.
- Current clearance through district-mandated drug screening and fingerprinting processes.
- Experience working with deaf or hard-of-hearing students in a K-12 school environment is preferred.
- Ability to start immediately without a pending certification/license process.
Location: Metairie, LA (serving students within the Jefferson Parish School District).
