This full-time position is for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing supporting K-12 students in a school within the Chattanooga area. The role requires working onsite with a caseload of deaf and hard of hearing students, following their schedules throughout the school year. This contract position runs from ASAP through May 21, 2026.
Location: Hixson, TN (Chattanooga Area)
Assignment Type: Contract, Full-time (35-37.5 hours/week)
Student Population: K-12 Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to deaf and hard of hearing students across grade levels K-12.
- Collaborate with school staff to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Provide direct support by following students’ varied schedules during the school day.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Communicate regularly with families and staff to foster student success.
Qualifications:
- Active Tennessee Department of Education (DOE) certification for teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
- Experience working in a K-12 educational setting with children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to effectively manage caseloads and collaborate with educators.
