DHH Teacher | Chattanooga, Tennessee
A full-time Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students is needed to provide specialized instruction within a K-12 school environment located in the Chattanooga, TN area. This contract position supports students across varying school assignments and follows their individual educational schedules. The role requires on-site presence with no hybrid or remote options.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored educational services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, adhering to their unique learning needs.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and specialists to support student growth and success.
- Manage caseloads that vary by assignment and schedules, ensuring compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines.
- Participate in professional development and team meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- Active Tennessee Department of Education certification for teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
- Experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Strong communication skills and ability to adapt instructional strategies for diverse learning needs.
- Commitment to working full-time (35-37.5 hours/week) on-site within assigned schools.
- Ability to begin promptly and continue through the end of the contract term in May.
