Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher – Houston, Texas
Starting Hourly: $44 per hour
Travel Pay: $1,600 per week

We are seeking a passionate Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to join a forward-thinking Houston, Texas school district. This position allows you to empower students with hearing differences by providing instruction, advocacy, and communication support.

About the Role
The DHH Teacher will design individualized instructional programs and work closely with general educators, interpreters, and specialists to support student learning and inclusion. You will play a key role in promoting communication, self-advocacy, and academic achievement.

Qualifications and Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or Special Education
• Texas teaching certification with DHH endorsement
• Knowledge of American Sign Language and Deaf culture
• Experience in educational interpreting or instruction preferred
• Familiarity with IDEA and IEP processes
• Background check and clearances as required for school employment

Job Duties
• Develop and implement IEPs for students with hearing impairments
• Provide instruction in communication, language, and academics
• Collaborate with teachers and related service providers
• Adapt materials to meet student accessibility needs
• Conduct assessments and monitor progress
• Support parent and staff education on communication strategies
