Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) | Irving, Texas
This position calls for a dedicated Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing support for students ranging from Pre-K to 6th grade. The role is based on-site in Irving, TX, working within a K-12 school setting on a contract through the current school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and assessments specific to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Attend Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to discuss student progress and educational plans.
- Read and interpret audiograms to inform instructional strategies.
- Manage and support a caseload of students from Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade.
- Provide itinerant services across one campus, focusing on the RDSPD program.
- Collaborate with school staff and support teams to meet individual student needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Deaf/Hard of Hearing Teaching License through the Texas Education Agency (TEA) is required.
- Experience working in Texas schools is preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule between 21 and 35 hours per week, with a minimum commitment of 3 days and up to 5 days.
- Strong understanding of educational strategies and compliance related to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
