Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Mansfield, TX
An immediate opening is available for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to support a K-12 public school campus in Mansfield, Texas. This contract position runs from early January through May and offers the opportunity to work closely with PreK-6th grade students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Responsibilities include conducting evaluations, attending ARD meetings, interpreting audiograms, and managing a specialized caseload of young students requiring tailored educational strategies. The role demands collaboration with school staff to implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure students receive the support they need to succeed academically and socially.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teaching License through Texas Education Agency (TEA)
- Experience working in Texas school settings preferred
- Ability to conduct audiological review and interpret results
- Strong understanding of ARD processes and special education compliance
- Effective communication and organizational skills
This position is full-time or part-time, with 21 to 35 hours per week over a minimum of three to five days, covering seven-hour days. The assignment supports one campus with students ranging from PreK through 6th grade.
