Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Issaquah, WA
A full-semester contract opportunity is available for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to support K-12 students in Issaquah, WA. This on-site itinerant role serves approximately 20-35 elementary and secondary students across multiple campuses, fostering communication access and academic progress within a district setting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Conducting assessments and developing individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Collaborating with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to ensure student success
- Traveling to various school sites while maintaining a base office in the administration building
- Providing resources and guidance to foster inclusive learning environments
Qualifications and experience desired:
- Valid Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) license and ESA certification
- Proven ability to work with diverse K-12 student populations in an itinerant setting
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
- Flexibility to work approximately three days per week (.6 FTE), with possible schedule adjustments
